i'm originally from cape town - camps bay to be exact - which is right right by the sea (i could always hear the sound of the sea at night) and one of the things i miss the most about being in london, is the sea - these photos by burton machen was a small reminder for me. one of his comments in his bio was "we often fail to notice what we actually see" - how come its always the case, especially when the familiar is no longer so accessible....
