discoveries : london

i've been in london now for over three years and have to say its had its ups and downs - originally from cape town, i've had to makemany adjustments and suffice to say i have found london to be difficult - but, there are other times when its truly glorious.
i've decided to start a little "discoveries" series where i showcase some of the parts of london (or other places i may end up) that i love.
the first in the series, so to speak, is broadway market - a market which began as a thoroughfare for livestock on their way to slaughter street, brick lane. today though, you find loads of wonderful fresh produce, gorgeous cakes, spices, over-priced but coulster second-hand clothes.....well, just have a look.....proteas....reminds me of home - and for those of you from south africa reading this.....£6 for three!!

One of my favourite markets too, gorgeous photo's!
I love it because you can cycle along the canal to get to it from my house. And do you know the garden centre Growing Concerns not far away on the canal side? Well worth visiting for their home made cake.....

the photo of the chicken is really cool by the way- its my favorite (hope that's not wierd)

i live on the south side of the canal!!! she wasn't there this weekend, but apparently she will be back soon, but make sure you check out the lady bird lady - she sells loads of old lady bird books and hundreds and hundreds of buttons (my preferred drug of choice!) - the possibilities for decorating cushions are endless :D
