forgive me if you may have already spotted this work by Sebastian Schonheit, but i am completely fascinated not only by the amazing knitted carpet, but more importantly by the sheer size of the needles he has used!
i'm what is known as a "thrower" knitter - can't do this other fancy knitting stuff, but how the heck would one hold the needles, throw the yarn (or in his case, rope) and still have perfect tension?

Good question! I hadn't thought about the nightmare of trying to maintain an even tension with those.
