Winter's covered....so we're giving it away.

In case you are not aware of this (and why should you be) but I am not a huge fan of the winter - not  for me the dark, the cold, the miserableness (ok, bit of overkill going on here, but you get my disdain) .... so, in my quest to pretend winter is not really a season, I might have gone a little overboard with my hotwater bottles this year, but no less, here they are in all their glory, ready for winter.
Aaaaaand, we're giving one away....all you need to do is leave a winter survival tip in the comments section.  The winner will be determined the old fashioned way (all names in a hat) on Friday, 2 December, and you get to choose your style.

In the meantime, my hotties are in my etsy.com shop and also at notonthehighstreet.com.

I love winter! Mostly, because I love (and here is my survival tip) star shaped gingerbread, and hot chocolate/coffee with lashing of Baileys added - What is not to love? And if you need more, I also let loose in the kitchen, with sausage rolls, coconut ice, mince pies, egg nog, and crumbles with loads of custard ;)

My survival tip:

draw the curtains,
find a pair of thick socks
grab a good book
make a hot chocolate topped up with cream and shavings of chocolate
sit by a crackling fire
turn the mobile off...and...enjoy

Here's a winter survival tip:
- baking, wonderful smells filling the house
- lots of little treats of all sorts
- comfort foods that keep you warm
- fruit and veg of bright colours, to remind you of sunshine and summer
- lots and lots of great coffee
- mulled wine
- warm cozy corners with comfy seats and blankets, if possible a fire place too
- great books
- great music
- company of those close to you

Either that, or hibernation...

My best winter survival tip is and has always been a good set of wrist warmers. You can wear them inside, outside, under gloves or mittens to make sure there is no patch of skin uncovered - and as they cover the main arteries they will keep you warmer for longer all over.

My recommendation would be a nice bottle of single malt whiskey and a good DVD box set (Breaking Bad would be my choice).

My survival tip is wearing comfy PJ's with warm fluffy socks, snuggling under a warm blanket on the sofa with a hot water bottle, a mug of hot chocolate, chocolate hobnobs. Oh and watching my favourite chick flicks at the same time.

My survival tip is to get the Christmas gift shopping/making done early and then you have loads of stress free time to hibernate, watch TV, catch up with friends and family, drink baileys, eat seasonal food and snuggle up (with a Strikk hot water bottle of course!) whilst the rest of the population run round like mad things during the chilly weather trying to get their shopping done!

oops! forgot to post a winter survival tip: geranium essential oil is a mood lifter that battles winter blues. Use in a diffuser or add a couple of drops to your face oil. :)
